DESCRIPTION:

The Script Administrator works in the Law Department and advises scripted television productions on a broad range of legal clearance issues in a very fast paced, time sensitive environment. Duties include reviewing production scripts, script research reports and related materials, and advising productions on clearance concerns based on established legal principles and network policy considerations. The legal areas of defamation, privacy and publicity rights, trademark and copyright law are primarily involved. This position also requires managing a high volume of requests to secure permission for the use of proprietary materials (e.g. clip footage, artwork, props and wardrobe) and negotiating related license agreements. The Script Administrator closely interacts with production departments, attorneys in the Law Department, other network departments and outside vendors of goods and services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

The applicant should be a highly motivated, detail oriented individual with outstanding communication and organization skills. The ability to multi-task and work well under extreme time pressure is essential. The applicant should also possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to form strong, positive working relationships with production members, co-workers and other network departments.

Preferred:

Experience spotting and analyzing basic legal issues related to production is a plus.

Scripted production experience is preferred.

Strong computer skills in Word, Outlook and web-based research.
