CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).
KCBS2/KCAL9 has an immediate opening for a Controller at the Los Angeles Duopoly. The Duopoly is looking for a Controller to oversee the station’s financial operations.
Partner with President/General Manager and Department Heads to ensure that the stations' financial resources are being used in the most effective and efficient manner.
Responsibilities will include overseeing all accounting processes, preparation & reporting of monthly financial statements, developing monthly forecasts and annual budgets, and administering SOX compliance.
Key person to guide the annual budget process and presentation including attending the meeting with division executives.
Monitor and oversee expense control of the stations and be proactive with cost reduction leadership.
Ensure the station is in compliance with GAAP accounting theory and have proper internal controls.
Work with various station vendors to develop pricing and negotiate contracts.
At least 7 years of relevant experience in roles of increasing responsibility in finance and accounting management.
Must be results-oriented, innovative, have strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate leadership and manage daily team operations.
Previous television or industry experience required.
College degree required, with an Accounting or Finance major, CPA or MBA preferred.
Oracle accounting system experience is preferred.
