We’re looking for a talented motion graphics designer, with some video editing skills, to produce premium content for CNET.
This person needs to be passionate about design and consumer technology, and comfortable working solo or in close collaboration with CNET editors on short and long form videos.
This person must proficient in After Effects, be able to edit in Adobe Premiere, and be able to Animate graphics, characters, and text while adhering to the production schedule and deadlines.
Participate in regular brainstorms with the wider CNET team to come up with new ideas and ensure we are always producing the most innovative features possible.
Create visually-engaging motion graphics, visual effects, original news, and social media assets for digital broadcast and to support overall video initiatives.
Work closely with our Creative Director and Video Editors on concept development, and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Deliver quality work while adhering to the production schedule and deadlines.
Design custom graphics packages for show segments and franchises, including title sequences, animated logos, lower thirds, thumbnails, explainer graphics, and on-set monitor graphics.
Edit and animate (both 2D and 3D) content to create great original motion graphics pieces.
Producing high quality, thoughtful, and entertaining video for CNET’s platforms and it’s partners about consumer tech, cool science and fun stuff.
Engage in opportunities to develop new original content and concepts for all of CNET’s web and mobile channels.
An ideal candidate will be strong in all aspects of visual storytelling, including researching, storyboarding, creating shot lists, filming, designing and animating graphics, and editing.
Advanced knowledge of After Effects, Adobe Premiere, and Photoshop.
Works well with others and enjoys collaborative projects.
Must be motivated, have an organized work ethic, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
1-to-2 years professional animation and motion graphics experience, and a demo reel or online portfolio that indicates a strong understanding of current design trends.
BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience
