The CMG Business Intelligence team are the primary data providers for all sites under the CNET Media Group. We work closely with engineering and product teams cross-functionally to implement data-driven decisions that drive our business.
The right individual for this role will be a motivated and energetic developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, is detail-oriented, and takes extreme pride in their work. The Analytics Solutions Engineer possesses a deep sense of curiosity, a passion for building smarter tracking solutions that enable data driven decision across the business.
Implement translated business requirements into tagging specifications across multiple tools and tracking approaches
Work closely with site-side engineering to implement tagging mechanisms for data collection with the ability to provide pseudo-code or code snippets if necessary
Design scalable tracking solutions that can be leveraged across multiple sites and business units and implement data standardization for consistent measurement methodologies
Build tracking approaches for activity and user analytics, such as user segmentation or traffic trending across sites and business units
Maintain ongoing upgrades to solutions and participate in training impacted teams
Implement Adobe Heartbeat video tracking solution across all sites utilizing our in-house video player
Standardize mobile app tracking solutions through native SDKs or through a tag manager
Perform QA, maintenance, and development of data-related monitoring tools and services
What you bring to the team
You have --
In-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
Experience in web analytics tracking such as Adobe Analytics (Omniture Site Catalyst and Discover) or Google Analytics
Familiarity with industry standard data collection such as comScore, Nielsen, and other marketing pixels
Experience with site tagging including desktop, mobile, video and OTT for digital properties with high traffic volumes
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
You might also have --
Familiarity with basic App Development (iOS, Android)
Knowledge of Databases and SQL queries (e.g MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle)
