CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. DESCRIPTION:

CBS3 and CW Philly 57, the CBS owned and operated television stations in Philadelphia, have an immediate opening for Operations Manager. Work with the Director of Broadcast Operations & Engineering (BO&E), operational, technical, and News editorial staffs to develop new and improved workflow, administer new technologies and achieve the highest standard of excellence in all technical areas of broadcast operations.

DUTIES:

Coordinate operational activities for News, Programming, CBS Network, and CBS Sports, CNN, affiliates and syndicators. Coordinate production requests from outside entities.

Oversee schedules for BO&E production staff. Keep track of sick time/vacations and assign replacements as needed. Manage overtime. Oversee news fleet supervisor and budget. Oversee Technical Operation Center (TOC) operations and procedures. Serve as liaison between BO&E and News regarding new technical developments in studio automation/studios. Oversee systems for school closings/news and weather alerts. Conduct weekly station operations meetings with managers.

Implement emerging new technologies into the newsroom (including mobile broadband) and work with and train the editorial staff to effectively get on the air. Oversee proper use and care of prosumer cameras and related equipment. Work with field supervisor and other editorial managers on large remotes.

Additional responsibilities as needed. On-call, flexible hours, night/weekend work may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College degree preferred; a combination of relevant skills and experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
