CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth), KPIX-TV and KBCW-TV (San Francisco), WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV (Boston), WUPA-TV (Atlanta), WWJ-TV and WKBD-TV (Detroit), KSTW-TV (Seattle), WTOG-TV (Tampa-St. Petersburg), WCCO-TV (Minneapolis), KCNC-TV (Denver), WFOR-TV and WBFS-TV (Miami), KOVR-TV and KMAX-TV (Sacramento), KDKA-TV and WPCW-TV (Pittsburgh), WJZ-TV (Baltimore), as well as WCCO-TV’s satellite stations KCCO-TV (Alexandria, Minn.) and KCCW-TV (Walker, Minn.).
CBS 3 Eyewitness News is looking for a dynamic, creative, self-motivated Assistant News Director to drive daily content, big stories, breaking news and special projects. The candidate must be knowledgeable, passionate, engaged, accountable and competitive, leading the news team to build its brand and achieve audience goals. The ideal candidate will generate ideas for improving workflow, content and production to drive audience growth on television and all digital platforms. Assistant News Director will work closely with News Director on strategic planning, hiring, scheduling, and newsroom administration. Other duties as assigned.
The candidate must possess excellent news judgment and leadership skills. Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, management or related field or comparable television management work experience preferred. The candidate must have a proven ability to lead, coach, motivate and solve problems. Applicants should have a minimum five years of experience in a medium/large television market or network, with at least two years in management. A flexible schedule is required.
