DESCRIPTION:
The Manager of Finance will oversee Smithsonian Channel’s revenue reporting, accounting and budgeting.
Specific Responsibilities:
Manage revenue for month close process including booking required journal entries and preparing appropriate back-up and creating reconciliations and summary reporting for management and parent company
Manage monthly revenue estimate process including creating forecast models, coordinating with parent company regarding assumptions, gaining management approval and preparing reporting and variance analysis
Manage billing and collection for advertising and ancillary business lines and deliver required reporting to external partners
Prepare required reporting and documentation for annual CPA audit and internal audits
Prepare financial models for scenario analysis to support deal negotiations
QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience in the media industry, preferably in television
Substantial experience with budgeting, the audit process and compliance
Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills are critical as the Manager will be interacting regularly with channel management, multiple internal departments, the channel’s audit firm and external partners.
Strong organization skills
Detail oriented
Experience utilizing Peoplesoft Enterprise One and TM1 preferred
Self-motivated team player
