Smithsonian Networks is seeking a QA Analyst to work alongside product and technology on the Digital Media team.   • Develop, implement and maintain a product testing strategy for applications developed for web, iOS, Android and Connected TV devices (such as Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV and Chromecast).

  • Understand functional requirements and translate them into test plans with as much detail as appropriate. Design, manage and document functional, regression and stress tests.

  • Execute tests to validate that the software complies with standards and documented requirements. Tests include: manual testing, automated scripts, performance testing, load testing.

  • Identify bugs, document steps to reproduce, collaborate with developers to resolve and verify bug fixes and help prioritize issues based on user impact.

  • Use your initiative and judgment to find unexpected problems and work with product and development to get them fixed.

  • Work with Senior Product Manager and VP of Product & Technology to establish test coverage and release plans, estimate testing time frames and analyze ways to improve the quality control process.

  • Manage external vendors to ensure their deliverables are meeting acceptance and testing criteria.

  • Manage app support emails, triage, log/investigate bugs and route as necessary.

  • Efficiently communicate critical issues and status updates in a timely manner, both laterally and up the chain.


  • 4+ years of experience conducting QA for digital products

  • Experience overseeing the full QA process from test planning to execution

  • Strong communication skills and attention to details

  • Desire to improve the user experience

  • Ability to work on complex projects that cover a wide range of technology with varying timelines
