DESCRIPTION:

The CBS News HR Coordinator position is serious about service. As a key member of the CBS News HR team, you will support the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and the HR team with the day-to-day operations of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st line HR support and advice to line managers in all aspects of the employee HR-cycle

  • Help coordinate HR initiatives and processes including annual comp reviews etc. ensuring compliance with requirements

  • Responsible for onboarding process

  • Maintain all personnel records, including HRIS and internal systems

  • Consult with and advise HR partners and employees on various benefits issues, including eligibility, plan provisions, procedures, questions, and claims appeal procedures

  • Provide guidance regarding benefits plans and policy interpretation

  • Coordinate training and development opportunities and source appropriate training opportunities

  • Provide administrative support (telephone coverage, scheduling, booking travel, expense reports)

  • Assist with additional ad hoc duties

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent training and experience) preferred

  • At least 1 year HR generalist and/or significant internship experience preferred

  • Knowledge of and experience in applying federal, state and local laws and statutes, that govern employment policies and practices

  • Experience in managing cyclical HR procedures including compensation and benefit processes

  • Excellent customer service skills are required

  • Must be organized and detail oriented

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required

  • Position requires high degree of integrity and the ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Oracle experience a plus

  • Ability to think proactively and analytically

  • Ability to facilitate group meetings and working effectively in a team environment
