The MPD Assistant Manager of Billing is responsible for the development and management of Sr. Billing Analysts and Billing Analysts, who are responsible for accurate invoicing, rate cards and revenue reporting for Multiplatform Distribution for North America, for all markets. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Manager of Billing to resolve high level client issues and refine & develop workflows as well as with Accounts Management, Accounting and Finance. The Assistant manager also works with inter-departmental Managers on workflow issues affecting MPD’s accounts.
Supervise day-to-day operations of the Billing Analysts on MPD’s accounts, East and West Coast.
Establish reoccurring work assignments and assign tasks.
Interview candidates and participate in selection process with Billing Manager for all hiring.
Training and development of new and existing staff.
Exploration, creation and recommendation of development opportunities for Billing Analysts.
Recommend workflow changes and enhancements to the Billing Manager.
Address all performance issues, and work with the Billing manager and employee on development and resolution.
Approve vacation, payroll and hours.
Liaise with Billing Manager and Accounts Management on estimates, accruals and budgeting data.
Responsible for final review and billing associated with all internal & external clients for submission to the Accounting department.
Close the monthly billing cycle within MediaPulse, submit all billing reports to Billing Manager for final approval.
Ensure that all services provided to our clients have been finalized and phased properly within the month to recover our costs.
Liaise with West Coast accounting to maintain timely billing, reporting, and provide information.
Assist with systems development and testing.
Organize one-on-one team meetings.
A passion for media and entertainment is a must.
Experience in the media & entertainment industry relating to one or more of the following areas - metadata management, digital video and audio, asset management systems/platforms, multimedia formats, international or syndication.
5+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance or Accounts Payables and Receivable.
2+ years of experience managing a team.
Thorough understanding of production and media supply chain’s workflows, and best practices.
Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task under shifting deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, team player who is results-oriented.
Ability to work with all levels of management.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
AWS cloud practitioner certification
