The Art Director is responsible for the conceptualization and design of a wide range of projects including key art for original series, documentaries and sports events, consumer and trade ads, out-of-home tactics, environmental graphics, marketing campaigns, press kits, logos, and collateral materials. The A.D. is responsible for developing and overseeing all aspects of a job from concept through mechanical stage. This includes directing the studio in the development of comps, signing off on mechanicals, reviewing matchprints attending press runs and assisting at photoshoots. Though this persons work will be reviewed internally by the Sr. Art Director and/or Creative Director, the Art Director is responsible, and accountable, for the finished creative, expenditures, and schedule requirements of assigned jobs.

  • Develop effective and innovative consumer and trade advertising materials: This person will work closely with Creative Directors, Sr. Art Directors, Project Managers and Copywriters to develop creative solutions that reflect a "Showtime" sensibility and are strategically sound. Must be able to develop a wide range of solutions for any given project and adapt quickly to changes in direction and/or positioning. Will be expected to manage complex, multifaceted advertising and marketing campaigns. Excellent organizational skills a must.

  • Assist senior staff members: The Art director is required to assist the senior point person (the Sr. Art Director or Creative Director) on Showtime series projects. This involves photo research / preparing comps and style boards for presentations/developing shot lists for photo shoots / assisting on set / handling pre and post production comps and layouts.

  • Oversees outside vendors: such as stock photo agencies, comp/sketch artists, retouchers and photographers. Must be detail oriented and be able to give clear and specific direction and feedback.

  • Keep current of design trends and emerging computer applications.



  • 8 years in graphic design including Network/Entertainment experience.

  • Outstanding accomplishment in graphic design: This person must be a strong conceptual thinker with excellent typography and layout skills. Work should reflect the ability to take chances, while at the same time communicating effectively and meeting strategic objectives.

  • Experience in many different mediums: key art, print advertising, 3D collateral pieces, outdoor advertising, signage, brochures and promotional kits, premium items, structural display & graphics, digital tactics such as evites, EPK's, simple banner ads. Strong knowledge of print production and photo retouching. Some working knowledge of broadcast and/or digital design a plus.

  • Computer skills: Excellent Photoshop/photocomping skill a must, Illustrator, InDesign. Flash and basic HTML knowledge a plus.

  • Good interpersonal skills: Must interact well with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.

  • Excellent communication skills: must be able to express ideas effectively and clearly both verbally and in a visual sense.
