CBS Interactive Entertainment is looking for an Associate Editor to support CBS Network and All Access series by creating, editing, and reviewing editorial, social and video content. We’re looking for a self-starter and great collaborator who is skilled in producing content for a variety of digital platforms, can complete tasks on tight deadlines, pays impeccable attention to detail, and knows how to bring out the best in people.
Support the marketing of CBS Entertainment’s programming initiatives through editorial coverage of breaking news and evergreen feature content.
Understand the CBS audience and how to position content to fans of different series under the larger network and All Access brand umbrellas.
Ideate and collaborate with various stakeholders to work on campaigns and initiatives that promote network and All Access original programming.
Keep track of trends in the digital landscape and suggest ways we can implement in our own content spaces.
Oversee on-site editorial support for CBS Daytime properties like The Talk, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, Let’s Make A Deal, and The Price is Right.
Work closely with video team to review captions for social and site video content.
Write and copy-edit news posts, photo galleries, video captions and publishing information, and social marketing copy.
Build content in CMS—including promo/header images, deep linking, embedding photos, etc.—for editorial submitted by freelance contractors.
What you bring to the team:
You have -
At least 2 years experience as a writer and editor at commercial web publications.
Adept writing and copy-editing skills, which help bring news and feature stories to life.
A basic knowledge of SEO data analysis and ability to apply knowledge by optimizing—and proposing—site content for organic Search intent.
The ability to keep content production efficient and on schedule, and for maintaining a high standard of quality.
Excellent online and in-person communication skills, the goal of which is to maintain positive and productive relationships with key stakeholders.
Proficiency in creative problem-solving, time management, and juggling multiple projects at the same time.
Experience using team collaboration platforms like Asana, Trello, or Jira.
Able to manage complex projects while understanding the needs of a variety of stakeholders, and coordinating with them effectively.
Experience building content on a CMS platform and writing HTML source, if/when necessary.
Passion for TV, music, and pop culture.
