The Research team provides actionable insights into trends, markets, audiences, and the competition. Our work drives strategy and product decisions, and supports advertising sales for multiple brands within CBSi’s Tech, Games, and Media properties, which include CNET, GameSpot, and TV Guide.
We are looking for a team-oriented, skilled researcher, and quick learner who thrives in fast-paced environment. In this role, you will focus on projects and advertising sales support for our Media properties including TVGuide.com, TV.com, Metacritic.com, Last.fm, Metrolyrics.com, Download.com and Chowhound.com.
Day to Day:
Interact with our site and sales teams to drive forward product and sales research initiatives.
Develop research approaches and questionnaires with the input of the Research Director.
Program for fielding, monitor fielding, tabulate data (using SPSS), and analyze custom studies including audience profiling, product development, ad effectiveness and monthly TV show tracker.
Assist in conducting qualitative research projects (focus groups and usability) including monitoring recruitment, logging findings during testing, writing up results/highlights, and moderating usability sessions or focus groups.
Complete comScore monthly reporting and analysis for sites providing insight into trends for our competitors, and provide other competitive intelligence.
Assist in other analyses such as social media mining and pulling Nielsen ratings.
Respond to sales and product marketing inquiries for research data utilizing third-party and internal (e.g. comScore, MRI, audience profile studies, site usage data, etc.), includes pulling data, analyzing results, preparing presentation materials, and communicating those results back to the teams.
Conducting research to inform the strategy for the growth and evolution of our Media properties.
Partnering with product marketing on communicating the value of key advertising programs.
Integrating our TV show tracker insights into our Media advertising sales story.
May also help out on Tech and Games business unit projects for sites such as CNET.com and GameSpot.com.
What you bring to the team:
BA or BS degree (with concentration in social science or data analytics)
Excellent analytical skills
Experienced with Excel and PowerPoint
Organized, flexible, strong communicator
SPSS and/or SAS skills required
You may also have--
Experience with comScore, MRI, Kantar, Nielsen, nPower, Hitwise, Qualtrics
Experience with Adobe Analytics, SQL, and Tableau
