Responsible for the complete oversight of all station business operations.

Perform month-end and year-end accounting closings.

Prepare, review and approve journal entries, allocations and accruals.

Collect, summarize, and interpret financial data.

Measure actual performance against operating plans and standards.

Develop key metrics and financial reports that management can heavily rely on.

Report monthly financial performance and variance analysis.

Review payroll.

Prepare schedules for taxes.

Prepare yearly budgets for the stations.

Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to drive productivity and efficiency.

Continuous improvement of internal controls.

Enforce corporate policies and procedures.

Monitor trade/barter activity for the market.

Assist and advise General Manager and Market Controller on the station’s financial issues.

Manage accounting staff, including monitoring and coaching.

Foster a positive work environment at all times.

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned.


5+ years of accounting experience required; experience in radio or the media industry is a plus. Strong working knowledge of general ledger systems, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax, banking, and budgeting required. Must be proficient in Excel (v-look up’s, pivot tables & complex formulas) and other software packages; Oracle accounting system experience is preferred. Solid knowledge of GAAP and sound financial and accounting practices is required. Effective organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and written/oral communication skills are required; must have excellent internal and external customer service skills. Prior management experience and 4 year degree in Accounting required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, use hands, reach with hands/ arms and manipulate a computer keyboard and ten-key machine. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Job requires a majority of the work day to be spent sitting and typing at computers.
